New Zealand were getting more swing than we did.

Get Ollie Robinson back.

Respect to ERB and Holding for managing to shoehorn in some BLM propaganda during their stint ✊✊

Wouldn't necessarily say we've bowled well, but we bowled them out for less than 400 on a pitch that everyone who has looked at it says is flat, placid and 400 is par.
We just about scraped 400 in two innings. It's pretty obvious where the problems are.

Anderson’s swan song bowl?

Re: Second Test - England v New Zealand at Edgbaston
The commentators saying England have bowled well this test?

What utter gash. They failed to find line and length enough and they were out bowled by New Zealand.

I’m clearly watching a different match to these 2 fuckwits.

Years ago, England were in a similar position against... WI (??), just a few runs needed to win. They sent Devon Malcolm in (I think it was him) and the opposition team took great exception... it was disrespectful, bla bla bla.

Just the one delivery needed.

If England are looking for top order players Haseeb HAMEED was in the original squad I think.
Last played a Test in 2016 v India

And of course Keaton JENNINGS
The PRAYING MANTIS last played Test cricket v the Windies in 2019.

Let Roy and Salt open for the test side, be fun to watch.

Neil Wagner batting at 11 in the first test?

That is a strong batting lineup, no wonder the Kiwis are ranked no.1.

Broad is a decent no.10 and an outstanding no.11.

What’s joe denley up to these days…?

In terms of other players we could have chosen, I see woakes is back in the t20 team. Is he out of tests for good? What about malan? And whatever happened to Toby Roland-Jones

Re: Second Test - England v New Zealand at Edgbaston
Broad was never a good batsman. Just had good hands.

Swann was a much better player. Just lazy in the nets. Swann could have been a genuine Test 7.

Re: Second Test - England v New Zealand at Edgbaston
Broad looked like a genuine all-rounder for a while; he did start off as a batsman who bowled a bit at school.
Andy Zaltzman dug up a stat that after 12 Tests Broad had a better batting average that Wally Hammond by comparison.
You are both right - it was Varun Aaron that broke him finally.

Yes Sven he has not regained his batting form since then

Sven Roeder 9:06 Sat Jun 12
Re: Second Test - England v New Zealand at Edgbaston
He was close to that early in his career
That ball in the face from the big Indian bowler seems to have ended his batting

Should take an hour tomorrow to finish the Test
Would mean England last beat NZ in a Test match in May 2015 at Lords.
The last 7 results will then be: L L D L D D L

Do you remember the days when people spoke of Broad as a genuine all rounder ?

Fuck me that seems a lifetime ago !

Sven Roeder 8:40 Sat Jun 12
Re: Second Test - England v New Zealand at Edgbaston
Were saying during the Lords Test that BROAD now has a batting strategy that involves ignoring the normal accepted idea of getting in behind the ball ... and will instead open his stance , step on the square leg umpires toes and SWING.

Is probably neck and neck with ANDERSON to bat 11.
ANDERSON with much less natural batting talent seems to use an alternative plan of ... SHOWING SOME TICKER.

I genuinely think I’m a better batsman than Broad and I’m rubbish.

Bracey?

Ben Brown is a better keeper than he is.
